Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Paffie collects, why, and the control you have over it — in plain language, because your data shouldn't require a law degree to understand.
1. The short version
Paffie (“Paffie,” “we,” “us”) helps you work with your energy instead of against it. To do that well, we handle a small amount of your data — and we try to handle it the way we'd want ours handled.
- We collect only what we need to run the app and make it better.
- Your check-ins, tasks, and brain-dumps are your content. We don't sell them, and we don't use them to advertise to you.
- You can export or delete your data at any time.
The rest of this page explains the details. If anything is unclear, email privacy@paffie.app and a human will answer.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your name and email address when you create an account or sign in with Apple or Google.
- Content you create in the app — energy check-ins, tasks, brain-dumps, notes, rhythms, and focus-session activity. This is the heart of the product and belongs to you.
- Support messages — anything you send us when you contact support or reply to our emails.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data — which features you use and how often, so we can understand what's working. This is aggregated and kept as anonymous as we can make it.
- Device & diagnostic data — device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and crash logs, used to fix bugs and keep the app stable.
Where your device supports it, we keep as much of your content on-device as possible and sync only what's needed to back it up and move between your devices.
3. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, personalize, and sync the app across your devices;
- Send you the notifications and gentle nudges you've opted into;
- Understand how features are used so we can improve them;
- Diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and keep accounts secure;
- Respond to your support requests;
- Send you account and, if you opt in, product emails.
We do not use the content of your check-ins, tasks, or brain-dumps to serve advertising, and we never sell your personal information.
4. Legal bases (EEA / UK)
If you're in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data under one of these legal bases:
- Contract — to provide the app you've asked us for;
- Legitimate interests — to keep the app secure, prevent abuse, and improve our product, balanced against your rights;
- Consent — for optional things like marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time;
- Legal obligation — where the law requires us to keep or disclose data.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations. Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.
7. How we protect it
We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular reviews to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe and to tell you promptly if something goes wrong.
8. Your rights and choices
You're in control of your data. Depending on where you live, you can:
- Access a copy of your personal data or export your content;
- Correct information that's wrong;
- Delete your account and data from within the app or by emailing us;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Withdraw consent for optional processing like marketing;
- Turn off notifications and analytics in your device or app settings.
EEA / UK residents may lodge a complaint with their local data-protection authority. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them — and since we don't sell or share personal information, there's nothing to opt out of on that front. To exercise any right, email privacy@paffie.app.
9. International data transfers
We may process and store your information in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. When we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Children
Paffie isn't directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your region), and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by email. Your continued use of Paffie after an update means you accept the revised policy.
