Paffie (“Paffie”, “we”, “us”) is an energy-based task app built for how ADHD brains work. This policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Paffie is a productivity app, not a medical device — it does not diagnose, treat, or manage ADHD or any condition.

Paffie is provided by [LEGAL ENTITY]. If you have any questions, contact us at privacy@paffie.app.

The short version

  • We collect the account details you sign up with, the content you create in the app (your notes, tasks, voice recordings, wins and energy check-ins), and basic usage and crash data to keep the app working.
  • To turn your notes into tasks, Paffie sends the content you choose to process to two AI providers — Anthropic and OpenAI — over an encrypted connection. We ask for your permission in the app before any of your content is sent, and you can decline. These providers do not use your content to train their models.
  • We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • You can delete your account and everything in it at any time, from inside the app.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, and — if you use Sign in with Apple and choose to share it — your name. If you use Sign in with Apple's private-relay option, we only receive the relay email address. You can also start using Paffie as a guest, without providing an email.

Content you create (“User Content”). Paffie stores the content you put into the app so it is there when you return:

  • Brain dumps — the free-text notes you write or dictate.
  • Voice recordings and their transcripts — audio you record for a voice dump, and the text transcript produced from it.
  • Tasks and their steps — task titles, first steps, and breakdown steps.
  • Wins — items you mark done or log.
  • Energy check-ins — the energy state and level you record, and any optional tags or notes.
  • Onboarding answers — the choices you make during setup, used to personalize the app.

Usage data. We use PostHog to understand how the app is used (for example: a check-in was submitted, a task was completed, the paywall was viewed). These events contain only counts, identifiers, and category labels — never the text of your notes, tasks, transcripts, or any content you write.

Diagnostics. We use Sentry to capture crash and performance data so we can fix problems. This data is not linked to your identity and does not include your content.

Purchase information. If you subscribe, Apple processes your payment and RevenueCat records your subscription status (active, expired, etc.) so we can unlock paid features. We never receive your full payment-card details.

Identifiers. We use a randomly generated user ID to associate your data with your account, and device identifiers generated by our analytics and subscription providers. These are used to run the app, not to track you across other services.

What we do not collect. We do not collect your contacts, precise location, health records, browsing history, or advertising identifiers, and we do not ask for tracking permission because we do not track you.

2. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide the core app — save and sync your notes, tasks, check-ins and wins.
  • Turn your dumps and voice notes into organized, energy-tagged tasks and steps, and produce your personal energy insights (see Section 3).
  • Personalize your experience based on your setup answers and check-ins.
  • Send the optional reminders you enable (these are scheduled on your device).
  • Maintain, secure, debug, and improve the app.
  • Process subscriptions and provide support.

We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not sell it.

3. AI processing of your content

Paffie's core features use artificial-intelligence services to turn what you write or say into a usable task list. We tell you what will be sent and ask for your permission in the app before any of your content is sent to these services. If you decline, nothing is sent and those AI features simply stay off.

What is sent, and when:

When you…What is sentSent to
Tap “Sort it” on a text brain dumpThe text of that dumpAnthropic (or OpenAI)
Record a voice dumpThe audio recording, then its transcriptOpenAI (transcription), then Anthropic (or OpenAI) for sorting
Break a big task into stepsThe task's title and first stepAnthropic (or OpenAI)
Quick-add a task (auto energy-tagging)The task's titleAnthropic (or OpenAI)
(Paid) Weekly energy insightsAggregated statistics and recurring words derived from your recent activityAnthropic (or OpenAI)

Who receives it: our AI service providers, Anthropic, PBC and OpenAI, L.L.C. The content is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection.

How they may use it: these providers process your content only to return the result to Paffie (organized tasks, transcripts, or insights). Under our agreements with them, they do not use your content to train their models, and they are contractually required to protect it with safeguards at least equivalent to those described in this policy. We do not send your name or email to these providers with your content.

Your control: the in-app permission prompt appears before your content is first sent. Declining means your content is not sent and the AI features are not used; you can choose to allow it later.

4. Service providers we share data with

We share data only with the service providers that help us run Paffie. We do not sell data to anyone. Each provider only receives what it needs for its job:

ProviderWhat it receivesPurpose
SupabaseYour account and all User Content (stored on our behalf)Backend, database, and file storage
AnthropicThe content you choose to process (see Section 3)AI: turning notes into tasks; insights
OpenAIVoice audio and text you choose to process (see Section 3)AI: transcription and task sorting
PostHogUsage events (no content) and a user/device identifierProduct analytics
SentryCrash and performance data (not linked to you)Diagnostics / stability
RevenueCatYour user ID and subscription statusManaging subscriptions
AppleSign-in and payment information you provide to AppleSign in with Apple; App Store payments

These providers act as our processors and handle your data under their own security and privacy commitments.

5. Data retention

  • Voice audio is deleted from our storage promptly after it has been transcribed, and in any case is not retained beyond a short processing window; only the transcript is kept as part of your notes.
  • Your account and content are retained while your account exists, so the app works when you come back.
  • Analytics and diagnostics are retained for a limited period by our analytics and diagnostics providers to help us understand usage and fix issues.
  • When you delete your account, your data is deleted as described in Section 6.

6. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account and all associated content at any time, from inside the app: go to the avatar → Settings → Delete account, or use the same option available before you subscribe.

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, brain dumps, voice files and transcripts, tasks, wins, energy check-ins, insights, and entitlement records from our systems (a hard delete — not a soft/hidden flag). Note that deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store subscription; manage or cancel subscriptions in your iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, as Apple handles billing.

You may also contact us at privacy@paffie.app with any request regarding your data.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Paffie is built so you can exercise the most important of these directly: your content is visible to you in the app, you control AI processing through the in-app permission prompt, and you can delete everything in-app.

To make any other request, email privacy@paffie.app. We will respond as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

California residents: we do not sell or “share” (as defined under California law) your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls that scope your data to your account (row-level security in our database), and storage-level protections provided by our infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit what each provider can access.

9. Children

Paffie is intended for adults and is rated 4+ for general audiences; it is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your region). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International data transfers

We and our service providers may process and store your information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Paffie after an update means you accept the revised policy.
